Hello all, been away for a while hope all is well with you guys. Wow it's been a while since i've made a post. Not much has been going on, pretty much just seem to be repeating the same day over and over. Nothing bad has happen, just wish something exciting, that challenges me, can happen. Right now my life lacks passion and inspiration, and i'm thinking too fucking much, even more than I normally do. Music seems a little bleh to me these days. It's like i'm waiting for something to happen, but it's not. Here and there I hear somethings, and I think ok, but unfortunately, it just seems to be followed by a steaming pile of shit. Anyways as always, here's some music.

^^^Been listening to this every chance I got today, very simple, and quite repetitive, but there's something just special about this. Big up G Double on this, don't know when or if this will ever come out. Great tune, just sit back and enjoy.

Been away for a while, situations, lets just put it like that. Anyways everything is still up in the air, my life is one big uncertainty.

Some new things, just got a new MP3 player, Zune HD 16GB, wanted the Sony Touch, but could'nt find em, except on online. Still getting used to all this touch screen jargon. It's ok, main issues, you gotta turn up the volume too high to get any good sound. My old 4gb Sony didn't have to go higher than 13/4/5 to get premium sound. And you have to used their software to upload your music and vids or whatever. With the Sony, i could upload my tunes through Windows, and Real Player. Don't get me wrong it's good, but if you want an MP3 player that's really designed for music lovers, you can't go wrong with any of the Sony ones. The sound quality crushes any mp3 out there,and yes including your precious ipods.

Anyways went to the Pub/Bar today to watch the Arsenal-Man City game, what a fucking waste of time. Game was awful, where's the beautiful football that Arsenal used to play. And I don't wanna hear about injuries, this side have'nt played beautiful footy for going on two seasons now.

One of my favorite Hardcore/Jungle tunes, this is the Sonz of Loop Era mix, the original is special, can't find it on youtube.

Another 4hero tune, this one is off their album, 'Play With The Changes'. This song pretty much describe how i've felt/feel for most of my life, especially in the past couple of years.

One of the best straight ahead Soulful House/Garage tunes made by an English producer. I don't know why, but I hate saying UK or British. Any, this one is a special one.

I don't know why I always do this to myself. I have this ex girlfriend who broke with me about 4 years ago, and from that time we've had an off and on relationship(no where near sexual by the way). Anyways we have'nt talked for about 10 months after our latest falling out. No one could make Jazz/Funk influenced D&B better than these guy, this was the era when Soulful D&B was truly Soulful, not just some stupid vocal chucked over top some drippy lazily produced beat, some real thought went into the music. Truly outstanding stuff, these guys along with Sci-Clone, and Peshay(I will get to them at some point) were at the head of the class for me with this sound.

Had a chance to seem him DJ about two weeks ago in some club in the Cleveland Park section of DC. First off it was a cold ass nite, but he played one of the best sets i've ever heard in my life. I mean i've never dance that hard in my life. First off he played nothing but Jungle, original 93, 94,95 and 96 flavas D&B flavas. And I for one could'nt have been happier to hear actual Jungle on system at a party in DC. Not that many people turned out, which is real shame cause people in the D&B scene could use a education on music, cause the stuff i'm hearing people call Jungle/D&B in these times is just a joke and really embarrassing. Anywas it was great nite, the atmosphere was fantastic, small crowd, and but each and every person on that floor went for it, and played and extra hour. Big up Remarc.

Normal tings and all, life sucks a usual, but Heartless Crew are back on radio, Rinse FM, BIG TINGS. Arsenal can't stop scoring and winning, but i'm not gassing myself up cause I know things will eventually come crashing down soon. Saw 'Jump Tomorrow' on Sundance this past week, I love that film so much. Curb Your Enthusiasm just keeps getting better if that's possible at all. Gotta give a shout to It's Always Sunny In Philly, "Milk Steak' what the fuck, that was too much. I really don't get Smallville anymore, the storylines just seem to be on some other shit these last couple of seasons. I've watched the show from the beginning and half of the time I have no clue what's actually going on.

Anyways i'm slightly intoxicated, that the norm these days for me, I really don't know how some folks go through life completely sober at all. Another favorite of mine from Illadelph Halflife, if you don't have that album, you are seriously missing out. One of my favorite artist(who is fucking gorgeous by the way) Amel Larrieux is on the this tune, her voice is one you hear sorta vibrating.

Speaking Of Dark

This is a very haunting tune to me, this album(Illadelph Halflife) in general had a very dark undertone to it, by far my favorite album from them, I've never really enjoyed much of what they've done since this album.

Dark D&B Post 97 Rant(Excuse the Bullshit)

This is something i've been wanting to get off my chest for a while. But why do people think Darkness in music equals loudness, Sci-Fi and horror movie samples. This what has always turned me off Dark D&B post 97, it just seems like people think that Darkness it's all about aggro and some fake cinema bullshit. I always find it quite ironic that most Dark D&B, or most Hard & Dark electronic based music is always made by the most Middle Class and Un-Dark people in this world. Their idea of Darkness for most is really based upon fantasy not actual reality. For most part their attempts at being Dark just seems really, really forced.

What I really dislike about modern Dark D&B is the lack of balance, when you listen to the pre 97 stuff there was balance and authenticity about. It seem like the people really understood what true Darkness is all about, not some fantasize teenage angst type manufactured Darkness. There was always a sense of hope and the light at the end of tunnel kinda in pre 97 Dark tunes.

Because really no one enjoys Darkness, and the people who are really living through Darkness are always searching for a way out of it, no one embraces Darkness, some unfortunately are used to it, and don't know anything else.

Darkness is an emotion that needs to be expressed within music, just like every other emotion, but there's real and there's fake.

True Darkness is about struggle, pain, heartache, lack of faith is one's self and the world, and the constant fight to hold on to your sanity. But with even all that, there's still a small sense of hope that shines inside.

The Breakdown & A slice of Heaven

This tune right here by Intense is all about that breakdown, fucking lush. This shit is sexual, absolute perfection. Thing I love about this is the early 90's R&Bish vibe that it has, top tune.

This next tune here, the title says it all. I remember the first time I heard this I had to replay it like 4 times. It was in 2001, coming back from the record store on the train, and when those vocals kicked, my word I was in fucking Heaven. This tune is special to me, so precious to me.

By the way both these tunes are available on Fabio presents Liquid Funk Vol1 on Creative Source. One of my favorite labels in the Jungle/D&B scene. And as for Fabio i'll get to him at some point.

My first real job was at this really nice Jamaican restaurant in DC, I used to love that place. Anyways about a year into to the job, the wife of the owner had to step in to run the business(not gonna get into that). Absolutely lovely lady, treated me like a son, her brother was a DJ. So on our way home from work she always used to play his mixes in her car, and just about every mix always had a Gregory Isaacs tune. This one is going out to you Mrs.P and the entirely family and staff at that restaurant, you guys are truly some of the best people I ever met.

Lack of late nite eats

just walked to the 7-Eleven for something to eat, and I literally found nothing. No Hot Pockets, or really disgusting but appetizing while intoxicated frozen food,all the potato chips were crap.

Ended up getting an unauthentic Jamaican beef pattie and some bootlegged 7-Eleven brand chips(only 79 cent, yay), I swear only one 7-Eleven carries the authentic beef pattie.

Radio Rant(I'm really bored, and slighty drunk)

I wish someone could really explain to me why radio in this country is so $hit. I understand the whole make money "thing", but does that mean that you can't play more than the same 10-15 songs. You tell me that for 1 or 2 hours a day, they can't have a show that does'nt play the usual things. In 2009 as we speak or I speak(don't watch the grammar) there literally millions of artist out there but when we turn on our radio(which I rarely do) we are subjected to hearing the same 5/6 artist.

It frustrates me that an artist like this is virtually unknown to the greater Hip-Hop world. I mean he actually makes music that most of us, especially the 25-30 crew can really relate too. He's from the area too, so I rate him even more. People talk about Wale, and no disrespect to him, but Kev is the best thing Hip-Hop wise out this area, get to know.

I you can find the English Subtitled version of this please get it, great film, not for everyone tho, it's from Chile.

Nice little random film, could'nt find the trailer anywherem but it's really nice film. Nothing fancy or over the top, just a really good film

Now this film may seem corny, which it is, but trust it's really good. Good to watch with the significant other, will bring back a lot of memories

I wanted to go out to this Soulful House thing, but I really could'nt be bother. Just sitting around listening to World Football Phone In, basically a show for Soccer geeks. The show features South American Soccer expert Tim Vickey, and other experts who specialize in American, European, African, and Asian Soccer. It's on BBC 5 live every Friday nite 9:30 PM-11PM US Eastern time. My Friday nite ritual, yeah my life is exciting.

I'm sure who's ever reading this(if there's anyone at all) is already bored.

Hip-Hop

But there's actually good stuff coming out, and good stuff that already came out.

Large Professor finally released the complete version of his album that was suppose to come in 96.

Raekwon's Only Built 4 The Cuban Links 2 is due out next week

Cormega'a album is due in late October

And I heard M.O.P. should have something out soon

And as for Jay-Z not a fan of him, although Reasonable Doubt is one of my favorite albums
